Karen Campbell and her husband, Jay, and I met up with Dan Small; Dan Small Outdoors Radio, and Wisconsin Outdoors PBS/TV; to ply the waters of the Sheboygan River, in search of steelhead, coho, or king salmon.
No tails were lifted this fine afternoon, but tantalizing hook-ups, bumps, sightings, and imaginations were abundant; regular enough to keep spirits high.
Memories ... this afternoon will be rehearsed often over the coming months and years. Good times last/linger/fill/savor - well and long.
No fish were harmed - only assumed prowess was proven more assumption than reality. But in the company of good friends or new-friends-who-become-good, little else matters.
It was a fine day to be alive. A fine day to be haunted by waters.
